Christian Cowan unveiled his latest collection in LA’s City Market Social House, and it’s as colorful and vibrant as the subjects who inspired it. He used this playful fashion line to pay tribute to the team of our favorite childhood heroines – Powerpuff Girls!

Cowan’s new collection debuted just in time for International Women’s Day, which proved to be the perfect time to celebrate Cartoon Network’s crime-fighting girl squad. He decided to go with Powerpuff Girls because they represented all the best qualities he wanted to channel with this collection, but they weren’t his only inspiration.

“I went with Powerpuff Girls, but I wanted to pick up the powerful message in the cartoon. Growing up, there were so many shows that showed women as damsels in distress and I never liked that, because my mom is such a strong woman,” explained Cowan.

Glittery pantsuits in his new collection were actually inspired by the look previously worn by Lady Gaga. They (obviously) come in blue, pink, and green, and Cowan’s new line features a series of equally vibrant pieces in these same shades – including pink-and-black tulle dress, worn by none other than Paris Hilton.
