Chores You Need Only Do Once a Year

For those of us who hate chores around the house, at least there are some that we don’t need to do more than once a year! Here are some examples:

Cleaning the gutters

It is wisest to clean your gutters after the leaves have finished falling in the autumn. If you don’t, your gutters become clogged and cause expensive damage to the roof.

Cleaning outdoor furniture

This is a chore reserved for spring when the outdoor furniture is being unpacked for the coming summer. You should only need to clean it once a year if keep up to date with stain removal as soon as accidents happen.

Personal documentation

If you keep a temporary filing system (even if it’s a drawer where you store bills, etc.), then at the end of the tax year you can go to your document filing system, remove the old paperwork, and file the new in preparation for tax season.

Garage, basement, and attic

Once a year these areas should be thoroughly cleaned from corner to corner. Look for damage that needs to be repaired and get rid of broken or unused items.
