Cauliflower is a great substitute for meat as it soaks up flavor and has a very satisfying texture. This vegan cauliflower masala is a simple curry that you can make quickly but is one that will keep you coming back for more.

Ingredients:

  • 2 onions
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 inch cube of ginger
  • 4 medium tomatoes
  • 10 ounces cauliflower
  • 1 large handful of cashew nuts
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 cups of water
  • Salt
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Chop up your cauliflower into small chunks and cook in the oven on a medium heat for about 30 minutes with a tablespoon of olive oil and a generous pinch of salt.
  2. Chop up your onions into crescents and fry in your cooking oil for about 5-10 minutes on a medium heat. Chop up the garlic and ginger into small pieces, and add to your pan along with cumin, garam masala, and chili powder.
  3. Chop up the tomatoes and add to pan. Add the cashews along with the water and leave to simmer for 10 minutes. Add a generous pinch of salt.
  4. Remove from the heat and blend until a smooth creamy texture.
  5. Remove your curry from the heat and add your cauliflower to the pan. Serve with rice or naan bread, adding salt and yoghurt to taste.

French toast is one of the easiest, tastiest foods to make and many people have their own recipe they’ve tweaked over time. It’s a brunch staple and with these tips, you can make your French toast even tastier. Prepare to say goodbye to soggy slices and hello to perfectly crisp ones!

Start With Good Bread

While pullman bread, which is also referred to as sandwich loaf or pan bread, is a classic for French toast, for more richness, use challah or brioche. Remember that dryer bread will soak up the egg more, so old bread is best.

Cut the Right Size Slices

Ideally, your bread should be no thinner than half an inch. Thicker bread soaks up the egg and milk mixture better, so you’re better cutting your own bread than using pre-sliced loaves.

Get the Egg-to-Milk Ration Right

This mixture is what makes your French toast creamy, so you need to get it right. Use about a quarter cup of milk and one egg per two-slice-serving. Also, it will taste better if you use whole-fat dairy milk.

Season the French Toast Batter

In addition to milk and eggs, the batter should have a pinch of cinnamon and a bit of vanilla extract. You can also add a bit of sugar or a dash of liqueur.

Add Toppings and Syrup

Salad Dressing

Ready in under five minutes, this will add interest and zing to your favorite salad. Simply whisk two tablespoons of yogurt with one clove of minced garlic, the juice of half a lemon, and a drizzle of olive oil. Season generously with salt and pepper, then pour over your favorite salad or roast vegetables.

Soup

There are recipes for yogurt-based soups, but you can also just add plain yogurt (thinned with a little water) into any soup recipe which calls for milk. This makes for a really creamy soup that’s brimming with amazing nutrients.

Cauliflower is a great substitute for meat as it soaks up flavor and has a very satisfying texture. This vegan cauliflower masala is a simple curry that you can make quickly but is one that will keep you coming back for more.

Ingredients:

  • 2 onions
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 inch cube of ginger
  • 4 medium tomatoes
  • 10 ounces cauliflower
  • 1 large handful of cashew nuts
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 cups of water
  • Salt
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Chop up your cauliflower into small chunks and cook in the oven on a medium heat for about 30 minutes with a tablespoon of olive oil and a generous pinch of salt.
  2. Chop up your onions into crescents and fry in your cooking oil for about 5-10 minutes on a medium heat. Chop up the garlic and ginger into small pieces, and add to your pan along with cumin, garam masala, and chili powder.
  3. Chop up the tomatoes and add to pan. Add the cashews along with the water and leave to simmer for 10 minutes. Add a generous pinch of salt.
  4. Remove from the heat and blend until a smooth creamy texture.
  5. Remove your curry from the heat and add your cauliflower to the pan. Serve with rice or naan bread, adding salt and yoghurt to taste.

French toast is one of the easiest, tastiest foods to make and many people have their own recipe they’ve tweaked over time. It’s a brunch staple and with these tips, you can make your French toast even tastier. Prepare to say goodbye to soggy slices and hello to perfectly crisp ones!

Start With Good Bread

While pullman bread, which is also referred to as sandwich loaf or pan bread, is a classic for French toast, for more richness, use challah or brioche. Remember that dryer bread will soak up the egg more, so old bread is best.

Cut the Right Size Slices

Ideally, your bread should be no thinner than half an inch. Thicker bread soaks up the egg and milk mixture better, so you’re better cutting your own bread than using pre-sliced loaves.

Get the Egg-to-Milk Ration Right

This mixture is what makes your French toast creamy, so you need to get it right. Use about a quarter cup of milk and one egg per two-slice-serving. Also, it will taste better if you use whole-fat dairy milk.

Season the French Toast Batter

In addition to milk and eggs, the batter should have a pinch of cinnamon and a bit of vanilla extract. You can also add a bit of sugar or a dash of liqueur.

Add Toppings and Syrup

Make sure you’re using real maple syrup if you’re adding maple syrup on top. Also get creative with toppings by adding ricotta, jam, nut butter, honey, chocolate chips, yogurt, Nutella, chocolate sauce, caramel, nuts, or fresh fruit.

Yogurt has myriad health benefits, especially when we opt for unsweetened, bio-live yogurt which is full of gut-loving nutrients. But sometimes yet another breakfast of yogurt and granola can feel a little boring. Here are three ways to get more of the good stuff into your daily diet.

Salad Dressing

Ready in under five minutes, this will add interest and zing to your favorite salad. Simply whisk two tablespoons of yogurt with one clove of minced garlic, the juice of half a lemon, and a drizzle of olive oil. Season generously with salt and pepper, then pour over your favorite salad or roast vegetables.

Soup

There are recipes for yogurt-based soups, but you can also just add plain yogurt (thinned with a little water) into any soup recipe which calls for milk. This makes for a really creamy soup that’s brimming with amazing nutrients.

Marinade

Yogurt-based marinades are fantastic at keeping meat dishes succulent. This simple recipe can be adapted according to your preferences. In a large bowl, mix three tablespoons of yogurt with one tablespoon of olive oil, the juice of half a lemon and one teaspoon of lemon zest. Add one teaspoon of minced garlic and another of minced ginger, a sprinkling of cayenne pepper and a pinch of salt and pepper.
