Your Days of Cooking Dry Chicken Are Over

Cooking chicken can be a difficult task. There are parts like the breast that can seem so tricky to cook all the way through without making it dry, and sometimes having dry chicken can feel inevitable. However, there are some easy ways to overcome it! Picking the right cut and the right cooking method is key to making juicy, flavorful chicken. Follow these tips and you’ll never cook a dry chicken again.

Deep Frying

If you want to use a less fatty cut of chicken such as the breast, consider deep frying it. Deep frying allows the chicken to get cooked on the inside, but the crispy outer layer will protect the juices from escaping during the cooking process.

Slow Cooker

With a slow cooker, you can throw in all your ingredients and never worry about dry chicken. Not only with the chicken be surrounded by liquids to baste it, the liquids that come out of it will remain in the same pot.

Thermometer

With a meat thermometer, all you have to do is stick it into the thickest part of the meat, and when it registers at 165F the cooking process is done. Now you never have to second guess whether your chicken is cooked all the way through.

#Repost from @thesmokinelk with @regram.app … So in August, @rholdenbbq ran a theme called #31daysofbbq. The subject on one of the days was 'what BBQ item can't you do without?'. Well my choice, along with many others was a @thermapen instant read thermometer. I've had one of their v3 pens in my arsenal for a few years and really can't do without it. So much so that when I went to a family BBQ the other week and forgot my Thermapen, I had to go old school and cut open a sausage or a burger to make sure it was cooked! I also overcooked some chicken, through fear of poisoning the guests! Now I'm sure I could learn to live without it but then when they make it so easy to check temps, I don't need to learn! With one of these, you'll never have to eat a well done steak (unless that's your thing, in which case, seek help). This really is a great tool to have to make sure food is always cooked to the right temp, earning you plaudits from the crowd! I've now very kindly been sent a Thermapen V4 and they've made some great improvements in what was already a great tool. The screen now rotates 360 degrees so you can read it whatever way up you are holding it. It also now has a backlit display which is a great feature as it no longer means I have to shine a torch on it when checking the temps in the dark. As an all year round BBQer, this is really useful! Another big improvement is they've made it waterproof which has its advantages, not least if you drop it in the sink while cleaning it! There are other changes like improved battery life, although I've not had to change the battery on my V3 yet! . . Every cook, amateur or pro should have one of these in their gadget collection! . . Oh yeah, I cooked some chicken too. Cooked to a perfect 73c of course! So that's 136 outdoor cooks down, 64 to go. Stay tuned to see what's next! #thermapen #chickensupreme #tempcontrol #temperaturecontrol #nomoredryfood #saynotowelldonesteak #saynotodryfood #meatthermometer #instantreadthermometer #perfectlycooked #notovercooked #ukbbq #ukbbqweek #smokeshack #instafood #instabbq #foodblogger #foodie #bbqblogger #webergoanywhere #holmoakcharcoal #thesmokinelk #200outdoorcooks
