Kylie Minogue and The Cure’s Robert Smith are among the Glastonbury stars who have donated their festival outfits to Oxfam for fans to buy.
Oxfam are on a mission to fight throwaway fashion and some of Glasto’s biggest stars have joined in the fight by donating their own old clothing to the cause. Kylie has donated a sun visor she brought for the festival and Robert Smith and Billie Eilish have donated their tour t-shirts.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage people to buy clothes second-hand. Perhaps the official festival outfits of Bastille, Tame Impala, and The Lumineers will help fans hear the message.
Fee Gilfeather, Oxfarm’s sustainable fashion expert said in a statement: “We are so grateful to the artists and to Glastonbury for supporting Oxfam’s campaign against throwaway fashion.
“It’s in everyone’s power to change things. By signing up to Second-hand September and pledging to say no to new clothing for one month, you can help protect the environment, and if you buy second-hand in Oxfam you’ll be helping the poorest people around the world escape poverty.”
