June is Pride Month and this year happens to be the 50th anniversary since the first pride parade. Last year, an estimated four million people attended New York City’s pride parade. Typically there are parades, concerts, and memorial services for those affected by HIV/Aids that happen all month long, but due to the coronavirus restrictions shutting down events, this year it will be held virtually. These are some of the events to check out this month.

The Gender Justice League’s annual Trans Pride Seattle parade won’t be happening this year, but they will host a film series, workshops, and youth activities from June 26 to June 28. If you want to get involved and donate to a good cause, The Trevor Project, a non-profit organization for suicide prevention in LGBTQ+ youth started an ongoing #PrideEverywhere campaign, which includes pride products from retailers and fundraising. Even singer Demi Lovato’s getting involved, as she was in the campaign’s video saying, “Pride isn’t going anywhere because Pride is everywhere.”
