Have you always dreamed of having a swimming pool in your backyard? Not all backyards have enough space for a swimming pool and installing one can get really expensive. That’s where stock tank pools come in.
Originally used to hold water for livestock on farms, stock tank pools are like inflated kiddie pools, but for adults and all you need is a filter pump and a huge bin that can be bought at an agriculture supply store. Although technically you can fill the bin with a hose, a filter pump will prevent bacteria and algae from growing.
If you want to dress up your stock tank or install it below the ground’s surface, go ahead, but all you need to do is place the tub on a flat surface, attach a pump, add water, and dive right in.
Some ideas to dress it up include adding a colorful container garden of flowers to hide the pool’s filtration system, spray paining the tank copper or bright colors, surrounding it with plotted pants and hanging baskets, or adding a gauze canopy. If you want to stay shady, position a patio umbrella over your tank and put it down when you want to catch some sun.
