Having acne is a problem that exceeds the aesthetical aspect. Acne can ruin your confidence and potentially stop you from having some great experiences. And let’s not forget it, they may be a sign that there’s something wrong with your health. But treating them is not easy. To be able to pick the right products for your acne-prone skin, you first need to know which type of acne you have.

Hormonal Acne

They appear periodically, depending on your hormonal status throughout the month. They typically appear on the chin and neck. Treat them with products that have salicyl acid and benzoyl peroxide.

Whiteheads

Whiteheads occur as a result of clogged pores. They are pretty annoying as is, but the real problem happens when they react with bacteria and become red and inflamed. Salicyl acid is efficient here, too. Make sure to wash your face with mild cleansers.

Blackheads

Infamous black dots are actually inflammatory processes that occur when clogged pores react with oxygen. The most efficient thing you can do about them is to clean and exfoliate your skin regularly.

Cystic Acne

Big, painful acne that sits under your skin is a result of sebaceous glands’ processes. They are difficult to treat and a visit to the dermatologist is recommended.
