Try These Delicious Winter Cocktails

If you thought that summer was the only time of year to be sipping cocktails then you are, of course, wrong. Winter is the best time to experiment and try different flavors for your cocktails. Mulled wine won’t be the only thing you can serve at your next party; check out some tasty cocktail ideas and start mixing.

Hot Toddy

This is a classic winter drink. It is perfect if you are feeling a little sick or want to warm up on a cold winter’s day.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 oz. bourbon
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • Cinnamon stick, for garnish

In a mug, combine hot water, bourbon, honey, and lemon juice. Add a garnish of a cinnamon stick and lemon slice.

Mudslide

This is a perfect dessert cocktail; the glass is rimmed with chocolate sauce and the cocktail is mixed with Baileys and Kahlua- you can’t go wrong.

Ingredients:

  • Chocolate syrup, for glass
  • 4 oz. vodka
  • 2 oz. Kahlua
  • 2 oz. Baileys
  • 1/4 c. heavy cream
  • Ice
  • Chocolate shavings, for garnish

Rim the glasses with chocolate syrup. Mix vodka, Kahlua, Baileys, and heavy cream in a cocktail shaker with some ice. Shake well and pour into the glasses. Add some chocolate shavings for effect on the top.

Apple Pie Moonshine

This apple flavored version of the cocktail is great for your next party.

Ingredients:

  • 4 c. apple juice
  • 4 c. apple cider
  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 3/4 c. 190 proof grain alcohol
  • 3/4 c. vodka

Add to a pot apple juice, cider, sugar, cinnamon sticks, and spices and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for an hour. Once it’s cooled, add the grain alcohol and vodka. Transfer to jars and shake well before serving.
