Planning our travel budget usually comes down to one thing – finding out the cost of transportation and accommodation. But it’s not all as simple as that, because traveling to a foreign country comes with a lot of smaller expenses that we usually overlook.

Getting injured, missing your flight or having to move to a different accommodation – these are all unexpected situations that might happen on a vacation. In order to deal with them as quickly as possible make sure to factor in these expenses into your travel budget.
Things you forgot or cannot bring
Chances are that you’re going to forget to bring some items such as toiletries, an umbrella, sunscreen or other things. It can also happen that you simply don’t have enough room in your suitcase to bring all these things. In this case, you’ll have to bring enough money to buy them later.
Various travel activities
Unless you have a detailed list of activities for your trip and plan to stick to it no matter what, you have to leave some wiggle room in your budget for different travel activities. Stumbling upon an unusual museum or finding a fun excursion to a nearby place is always a possibility that you don’t want to miss.
