There have been so many nail art trends recently that it’s hard to keep track of them, let alone try them all. Tortoiseshell nails are trending on Instagram right now and just as the name implies, they are inspired by adorable tortoises and their magnificent shells.
Katie Masters, also known as nailthoughts on Instagram, created the manicure in the photo below. She claims that tortoiseshell nails “always looks the best when you aren’t thinking too hard and focusing on making them look ‘perfect’,” Masters told Allure. “Since it’s an abstract type of art, the less perfect and more natural-looking, the better.”
This sound like a great recipe for perfect nail art, so you might want to consider booking your nail artist as soon as possible. Tortoiseshell nails are perfect for summer, but they’ll also fit in nicely with our autumn color palette, don’t you think?
