Most people have a selection of herbs in their condiments cupboard but many people also have little to no idea on how to use them. Rather than adopting the “chuck it in and see” approach, take a look at our guide to some of our favorite herb pairings.
Basil
Basil pairs beautifully with tomatoes. It is used to make pesto source and is fantastic in salads and on toast.
Mint
Mint is used for a variety of dishes. It works particularly great in a mojito or a Pimms. Mint also works well with certain meat dishes, like lamb.
Sage
Sage is the herb used in a classic stuffing. It pairs well with chicken and gives a traditional, homely flavor.
Corriander
Coriander and lime are a divine combo when garnishing popular Asian dishes like Pad Thai or curry. It works great with rice, salads, and can be grown quicky in your garden.
Dill
Dill pairs well with fish. It also adds a little something special to potatoes and salads.
Rosemary
Rosemary is a companion for classic meat dishes like pork, lamb, and chicken. It is another herb that adds a traditional flavor to a Sunday roast or Thanksgiving dinner.
