If you’re into fitness and going to the gym, the past few months have probably been incredibly difficult for you. As exercising is part of your daily routine and with the gym closed, the only alternative is to workout at your home. While exercising at home is an option, it’s nice to leave the house and enjoy the beautiful weather. Working out outside is always an option as long as you maintain social distancing and make smart choices. Here are some tips for working out outside during the coronavirus.

Keep Your Distance

When working out outside, it’s essential to keep at least six feet of physical distance. Try and find times that are less busy and places that have fewer people. If you see that people aren’t maintaining safe social distances, find a new place to workout.

Create Your Own Space and Keep it Clean

You can create your own mini gym by bringing your TRX trainers, resistance bands, and yoga mats to the park or playground. Make sure you have disinfectant wipes with you to wipe down surfaces before you use them.

Keep Workout Groups Small

Many of us prefer group fitness classes to working out on our own, and you can still do group classes while adhering to social distancing guidelines. Before you gather with friends, check to see the rules regarding gatherings from your state. Or you can join an outdoor class, which are being offered by many gyms and they’re usually good about sticking to health and safety practices.

Wear a Mask

The rules are a bit unclear regarding if you need to wear masks while exercising, but we suggest erring on the side of caution as face masks reduce the transmission of the coronavirus.
