We’ve all been there—the heartbreak of dropping your favorite compact or accidentally shattering a beloved lipstick. But broken makeup doesn’t have to be the end of the world. It can be an opportunity for some fun and creativity. Here are some simple and innovative ways to fix your broken makeup and give it a new lease on life.

Cracked Powders, Eyeshadows, or Blushes? Press Them Back Together

Gather up the broken pieces and place them back into the compact. Then, using a small dropper or a spray bottle, add a few drops of rubbing alcohol to the powder until it becomes a paste-like consistency. Smooth out the surface with the back of a spoon or your fingers, and leave it to dry overnight. Voila! Your powder is back to its compact form and ready to be used again.

Salvage Shattered Lipsticks

Carefully remove the broken portion from the tube using a clean knife or spatula. Then, take a lighter and gently heat the base of the lipstick and the broken piece. Once they are slightly melted, press the broken piece back onto the base, making sure to align them properly. Pop the lipstick back into the fridge for a few hours to set, and you’ll have a revived lipstick ready to adorn your lips.

Broken Eyeliner Pencil? Melt and Mold

You can easily fix it by melting the broken ends and molding them back together. Hold the broken ends over a flame for a few seconds, being careful not to burn yourself or melt the entire pencil. Once the ends are softened, press them together firmly and hold for a few seconds until they stick. Let it cool down, and you’ll have a functional eyeliner pencil once again.

Give New Life to Dried-Out Mascara

Remove the wand from the mascara tube, and add a few drops of saline solution or eye drops to the tube. Give it a good shake to mix the solution with the dried mascara, and you’ll have a revived mascara that glides on smoothly and coats your lashes beautifully.

Once we start wearing makeup, it can be difficult to stop. It’s easy to get used to seeing a flawless face in the mirror thanks to foundation, contouring, and mascara … meaning going out without them can become nerve-wracking. There’s nothing wrong with makeup as a form of self-expression, of course, but if you’re someone who doesn’t connect to your makeup or finds it time-consuming then you might be looking to make a change. One thing that can help is trying out more minimal looks to get used to showing off your natural face.

Sheer Foundation

Not all foundations are full-coverage and opaque. If you’re used to making your skin look completely one-tone or contouring, try out some lighter foundation. This will help you get used to seeing your natural skin in the mirror while still providing some correction and evening your tones.

Focus On One Feature

Another option is to skip the full face and instead use a bit of makeup to make one feature pop. Maybe this means mascara and a bit of eyeshadow, or some nice lipstick. This can help you get to know your own features and get familiar with your natural beauty.

Go Absurd

If you’ve historically used makeup to blot out imperfections and not as a form of self-expression, it can be fun to try out different out-there makeup looks to show off your personality. Maybe that means unconventional lipstick and eyeshadow colors or face glitter. There are endless possibilities and they don’t need to include any kind of “corrective” makeup—your face is perfect as-is, and it doesn’t need to be corrected.

If you love makeup and experimenting with different looks—and also wear glasses—you probably know how disappointing it can be when you craft a beautiful eyeshadow look and then just cover it up with your glasses. But there are actually ways you can do your makeup that will look even better once you put your glasses on. Here are some tips.

Balance Your Frames

One of the main things to think about is how to balance out the look of your glasses frames with your eye makeup. If your glasses are colorful, go for a neutral eye. If they’re bold, try a more minimal eye look. If they’re clear and barely noticeable, you can go more dramatic. Get the idea?

Curl Your Lashes

It’s always annoying when you get mascara on your lenses because your eyelashes brush up against your glasses. If you want to avoid this, curl your lashes. This will also help open up your eyes visually.

Have Fun With Lip Colors

While glasses might clash with crazy eye shadow looks sometimes, they pair really nicely with fun, exciting lip colors. So play around with different colors, mixing and matching with the tones in your glasses frames.

Putting makeup on in the morning takes tons of time and effort, which most of us don’t have right after we wake up. Even if you don’t have time to put on a full face of makeup, it doesn’t mean you can’t still look put together. You don’t have to skip out on putting on makeup when you’re short on time. With these three makeup tricks, you’ll look flawless, regardless of if you’re short on time.

Focus on the Brows, Lips, and Skin

Start by focusing on the brows, lips, and skin. Start by using a luminizing moisturizer on areas you want to conceal or a sheer foundation for general coverage. For a flawless complexion, use a concealer and a tinted moisturizer. For the brows, use a brush to groom them and a pencil to fill in the gaps. The final step is a bold lip, so choose a color that makes a statement.

Use Multi-Purpose Products

Multi-purpose products are great for saving time and they can be used on serval areas of the face like the cheeks, lips, and eyelids. Also look for brushes that can be used on multiple areas of your face, which will make the application quicker.

Prioritize

Think about which part of your face you want to highlight and focus on that area. For example, if you want to highlight your eyes, spend time curling your eyelashes, applying mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow, and penciling in your eyebrows.

Sometimes we wish to make our eyes look bigger and wider in order to achieve a mysterious and dramatic makeup look. Here’re some of the best eye makeup tips that will help you make your eyes look bigger.

Get Rid Of Dark Circles

Use a concealer that’s only a shade lighter than your foundation to remove the dark circles around the eyes and make them look bigger.

Curl the Lashes

Applying mascara and false lashes can make a huge difference to your eyes, but don’t forget to use an eyelash curler to curl the lashes to make your eyes look wider.

Highlight the Inner Corners

Another easy trick used by makeup artists to make the eyes look bigger is applying light shadow or highlighter to the inner corner of the eyes.

Winged eyeliner

Learning how to apply eyeliner like a pro is a useful makeup skill because it’s an easy trick to create the illusion of big eyes.

Brows

Sometimes the shape of our brows can make all the difference, so make sure to find the shape that flatters your eyes and face.

If you love makeup, but struggle with hand tremors, you know how difficult applying it can be. Shaky hands and applying makeup don’t go well together but there are some things that can make it easier.

Applying Eye Makeup

Eye makeup is probably the trickiest category to apply when your hands are shaking. You don’t want to get mascara in your eyes or smudge your eyeliner, right? The required precision can mostly be achieved with steady hands. Practice can help a lot, but there are some helpful techniques that do wonders once you master them.

Makeup Station

When you have shaky hands, a proper place where you can apply makeup can mean the world. You need a table on which you can rest your hands, a mirror that doesn’t require you to hold it, and good lighting.

Product Order

It’s also a good idea to apply the problematic products first. For example, if you mess up the eyeliner and want to remove it to start over, it’s good if you haven’t already applied the foundation. This will remove some of the stress and make applying makeup a more relaxed activity.

Finding the perfect foundation for our skin type and applying it the right way is not as easy as it sounds. If you’re having trouble mastering the art of foundation, read these tips on how to solve the most common foundation mistakes.

The Shade of it All

The first step towards a perfect makeup look is choosing the right foundation shade. Before you go to the makeup store, learn what is the best foundation for your skin type, and determine your skin undertone. Only then you can go to the store, test a few different foundations on the jawline, and buy the one that matches.

Applying Too Much

Using too much foundation is probably the most common mistake we make. Building up product to cover some flaws will only draw attention to that area, so try to avoid this and make sure you blend it properly.

Wrong Tools

Just like we need to find the perfect foundation for our skin, we also need the right tools to apply that foundation. You can apply with a brush or a sponge, whatever works best for you. And as a side note, keep all these beauty tools clean to ensure a flawless result and healthy skin.

Famous makeup artist Lisa Eldridge was one of the first ones from her industry to upload videos to YouTube. She’s still the person we look up to whenever we need professional makeup tips and she now has the perfect solution for wearing lipstick under a face mask.

There are many situations in which you may want to have lipstick on under your face mask. Perhaps you’re visiting a friend or your boyfriend but you need to wear a mask during your ride, or you simply want your lipstick intact during your walk outside when no mask is required. Whatever it is, Eldridge has a solution for you.

“I love blotting lips because I like that slightly [melted] look. If I’m using a lip color which is really pigmented, I tend to use a small amount and just really work it into the lips so that it becomes a stain,” she told Marie Claire in an interview. According to her, this is a great way not to get any lipstick marks on your mask.

Decluttering and organizing your possesions is an activity that must be repeated from time to time, depending on how often you shop for new things. When it comes to makeup, sometimes it’s too easy to get new shiny things only to realize you don’t actually like them that much.  Here’s how to curate the perfect small makeup collection.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B9Z1FS7Arbu/

Consider Colors

If you keep buying red lipsticks but only wear nudes, perhaps it’s time to admit that your taste has changed. You don’t have to throw out those you have, but your everyday collection probably shouldn’t have colors you don’t actually wear every day.

The Ultimate Palette

You can create the ultimate palette and use every single color from it if you buy singles and put them all in the same place. You’ll never want to buy a palette someone else created again. Let’s face it, how many colors from your palettes do you actually use?

Don’t Forget Brushes

You don’t need a ton of brushes in order to get a flawless look day after day. We’re sure you have your favorites by now so set everything else aside and see how the small brush collection is working for you. Don’t forget to regularly wash them!

With employees working remotely, many companies are staying connected via video conference meetings. One of the perks of working remotely is that you don’t have to get dressed for the office or put makeup on—you can literally just roll out of bed in your pajamas. But, for video meetings, it’s important to look like we have our life in order, so here are some makeup tips that you can do in five minutes!

Apply a Good Moisturizer

After cleaning your face, apply a hydrating moisturizer to illuminate your skin. Prepping your skin before you put on makeup is essential.

Grab Some Eyedrops

The camera picks up on red and pink tones, so your eyes will look redder if you are tired. Eyedrops will brighten your eyes in under a minute.

Put on Mascara

To look wide awake, curling your lashes and applying a black mascara will make you appear brighter on the screen.

Apply Blush

Video calls can make you appear washed out, so applying a blush will make you pop on the screen and give your face some life.

Add Concealer

Concealer is the most important makeup product for conference calls as it covers up dark spots and the bags under your eyes, which make you look tired. Put some concealer under your eyes, on the bridge of your nose, on the area above the jawline, and on the inner corner of your eyes.
