]]> Trento is a small city in South Tyrol in the north of Italy that has a fascinating cultural crossover with Austria, as well as some amazing mountain ranges and swimming lakes. Here are three reasons why you should visit Trento.

Mountains

The Dolomites are some of the most spectacular mountains in Europe, with a very distinctive geology that makes them stand out in their jaggedness and steepness against the alpine meadows beneath them. They are also a relatively accessible mountain range for non-technical hikers and have wildlife such as wolves and bears to look out for.

Swimming lakes

Lake Garda is a very popular destination with tourists as it has beautiful scenery. People are able to swim there in the warmer months and there are some excellent restaurants around its edge. The less popular but perhaps even more stunning Lake Molveno is a short drive from Trento and is overlooked by the Brenta Dolomites, which are within walking distance form the town of Molveno.

For this Italian dish, you’ll need to buy boneless chicken breasts. Slow-cook the chicken in a pan and slice up pieces of fresh Mozzarella cheese, basil, tomato, and pesto sauce. Once your chicken is ready, cover it with a slice of Mozzarella in a bowl of tomatoes and basil before drizzling the ingredients in pesto.

Bianca

This is probably the strangest looking pizza because it looks nothing like the pizzas most people are used to. Pizza Bianca is a completely vegan pizza that tastes more like focaccia, except it is super flavorful and very airy. Normally you will find it topped with olive oil, salt, and sometimes herbs like rosemary.

Other than the major tourist sites like Piazza San Marco and the Grand Canal, here are three local gems you really shouldn’t miss.

Gelatoteca Suso

Hungry much? Located in San Marco 5453 is this amazing ice cream parlor, offering the authentic Italian gelato experience. With a wide array of tastes, colors, and textures and a direct view of the canal, it doesn’t get a lot better than this.

Gallerie dell’Accademia

If you’re into Venetian art, this is the place to go. Located right next to the Ponte dell’Academia (the Academia bridge), Gallerie dell’Accademia is one of the most notable art galleries in the city, presenting a collection of Venetian art by famous local artists up to the 18th century. One of the paintings was done by none other than Leonardo De Vinci.

Scala Contarini del Bovolo

If you’re not scared of heights, make sure to check out the tallest spiral staircase in Venice. Dating back to the late 1400s, this unique staircase is a fascinating mix of architectural styles. But even if you’re not a sworn fan of Gothic architecture, the view of the city from the top is totally worth it.

The flavors of the pizza always vary widely compared to most Neapolitan style pizzas. What’s even better about pizza in Rome is that almost every place offers many options for pizza with no cheese, so dairy-free people can still enjoy without fear!  So if you are preparing for a trip to Rome, don’t forget to keep your eyes out for this different pizzas. 

Bianca

This is probably the strangest looking pizza because it looks nothing like the pizzas most people are used to. Pizza Bianca is a completely vegan pizza that tastes more like focaccia, except it is super flavorful and very airy. Normally you will find it topped with olive oil, salt, and sometimes herbs like rosemary.

Zucchine

This zucchini pizza is an interesting vegetarian option because of the texture the zucchini brings. It is also usually accompanied by ricotta cheese.

The Morgan Library And Museum

This library in the Murray Hill neighborhood of New York is also a combined museum which was previously the private library of the founder of JP Morgan.
