]]>Let’s be honest, buying new food storage containers hurts the wallet. They can be really expensive (especially if you choose to go for glass containers over plastic). Luckily, the jars you were planning on throwing away or recycling are perfect for storing leftovers. They are airtight, so your food won’t leak at all!
If you like to make your own juices at home, these sauce jars are perfect for storing them! You can make a batch in bulk and save them in the fridge for the week.
Who said all of your cups have to match?? If you’re on a budget or just really passionate about reducing waste, use your leftover jars as cups!
Using jars as planters or flower vases is such a cute way to make your decor a bit more rustic and cute. It will give a more “DIY” aesthetic and show off how much you care about the environment!
There’s nothing worse than having a bunch of pens and not knowing where any of them are. Maybe they’re taking up space in your junk drawer, or scattered at the bottom of all your bags–but not anymore! Use a jar to store your pens neatly on your desk, so they always have a place and won’t get lost!

]]>Who doesn’t love a glass of wine after a hard day’s work? But what do you do with the wine bottle when it’s empty? You put it in the trash, of course. But why not save them to paint and use them as vases? We’re sure there has been a time you received flowers and had nowhere to put them. Well, with your beautifully decorated wine bottles you will always have a place.
All you need is a piece of wood and some macrame cord and a drill if you want to secure it to the wall. You can choose any wood you want and color. Make four small holes with a drill on each corner and then thread through the string, connect it to a macrame ring, and then put it onto a hook in the wall. Add some pretty plants or small books.
We all have those CDs sitting in our living room collecting dust, so instead of throwing them away, why not cover them in fabric or paint them and make them coasters for your drinks? Add some stones, make them glossy or matt, whatever your design choice is, make it fun!
What can you do with all that leftover fabric you have from costumes you once made? Why not cover your plant pots with it? All you need is some plain plant pots, fabric, and mod podge and you will have a fantastic fabric-covered plant pot to brighten up your home.

]]>You don’t need anything fancy to get your craft on! Paints, coloring pencils, felt tips and pastels, colored paper, wool, felt, sequins, beads—whatever you can get your hands on or that you have lying around. Raiding your kids’ art supplies is also never a bad idea!
Pick a project or a theme as a blank piece of paper can be intimidating to even the most seasoned of artists. Check out Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok for easy craft and design project ideas or take votes on what the theme should be. You could even just explore colors and shapes.
A crafternoon should be all about having fun. The conversation flows when your hands are busy and working on a creative task can be fantastic for de-stressing. Don’t worry about the outcomes, just focus on the experience and enjoy!

]]>One way to create a stamp collage is to find stamps that have the same theme—it could be butterflies, flowers, birds, or whatever else you like. Then stick them on a canvas, and you have a gorgeous piece of art.
Another option is to select stamps that are in the same or similar colors to one another to create a tonal piece. An advantage of going for a monochromatic design is that it will look really visually striking on your wall from a distance. You can also have fun cutting your collage into different shapes and setting it against a colorful background.
The sky is the limit when it comes to the designs you can create with postage stamps. For those more experienced artists, why not let your mind run free and try an elaborate design?

“I do copious amounts of research on my subjects both before and during the making process,” explained Redlinger on her website, “preferably by studying live plants and flowers, but also from online image searches and combing through books and magazines.”
When she isn’t crafting paper flowers, Redlinger might be found working out in the garden (naturally!), joining her husband in chasing their two young kids and our dog around the house, or reading a good SciFi book.

]]>Do not start knitting a scarf as one of your first pieces as it takes so long to finish and it will make you give up quickly. Instead, once you have mastered the basics of knitting try making a hat. This is far less time-consuming and your mistakes are less obvious. They are a little more complicated but you will learn as you go.
Don’t choose a project that will take a while to finish, give yourself a deadline to complete your first piece, maybe a birthday coming up or a trip you are taking.
The best place to buy your yarn is at a small local yarn store, where they will be able to help first-time knitters and advise you what to buy.
Buy yarn that is medium weight and read the labels to see what size needles to buy. Bamboo is great for first-timers as it stops the yarn from slipping and there’s less chance to drop the stitches.
