Amsterdam is a city that is believed to be created in the 10th century. The city holds so much history and culture, especially in its squares. If you are looking to go there for a trip, there are some definite squares you need to go to.

Leidseplein

This square is where you will find a lot of bars and good nightlife. The square is called as such because it was historically the route from Amsterdam to the city of Leiden. There are some clubs that play music from rock to jazz, so it’s definitely the spot to go to when the sun goes down.

Rembrandtplein

Named after the famous artist who lived there, Rembrandtplein used to be part of the walled city during the Middle Ages to protect the city from intruders. There you will also find the famous Night Watch sculptures, which were built on the 400th anniversary of Rembrandt’s birthday from his well-known painting.
