Seattle-based influencer Joelle Friend is known for documenting her adventures for her audience, which is more than 240,000 strong on Instagram and growing. Having lived in the Pacific Northwest all her life, before moving to Seattle, she now shares travel and lifestyle content, documenting her travels around the globe (at least when traveling is possible).
“What captures my heart and soul when I travel are the people that I meet abroad,” she writes in one blog post. “I was blown away by the kindness of the local people and their hospitality.” Her travels also include many a-road trips. “When I go on road trips, I try to pack light and bring the necessities,” says Friend, “because sometimes it involves car camping and it makes my life a whole lot easier if I pack light.”
With a knack for connecting with her audience in a meaningful and long-lasting way, the young travel blogger often leaves an indelible impression through her social media presence, reflected perfectly in her last name Friend.
But when it comes to her favorite places to travel to, she sticks close at home.”If you were to ask me what one of my favorite places to roam around in is, Mt. Rainier would be at the top of my list,” writes Friend. “Why? Growing up in Washington, when the clouds finally clear, it shows itself so majestically. It towers over Western Washington and makes itself known. It has a powerful presence to it.”
