Soda Cake’s Super Simple to Make and Only Requires 2-Ingredients!

Have you tried soda cake before? All you need are two-ingredients—box cake mix and a can of soda. This cake is moist and crumbly and it makes the perfect cupcakes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box cake mix
  • 1 can soda

What Flavors Work Best?

There are tons of options when choosing which type of cake and soda to use. For vanilla or yellow cake, the flavor of the soda will be stronger and for chocolate cake, it will be subtler. We suggest trying vanilla cake with root beer, orange soda, or grape soda, spice cake with ginger ale or ginger beer, chocolate cake with root beer, or lemon cake with lemon-lime soda.

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature stated on the cake mix box. Then grease a cake pan or line muffin tins with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix and soda for two minutes.
  3. Pour the batter in the cake pans or the cupcake cups and follow the cooking directions on the box mix.
  4. When the cake is cooled, top it with an icing of your choice.
