The Scandi Sense Diet: all you need is your hands

Based on recommendations from the Danish Health Board, The Scandi Sense Diet that was developed by Suzy Wengel is a weight loss plan that uses your hand to measure your food.

The bottom line is this: to measure using your hand, cup your palm. When having a meal, eat one handful of protein, one handful of fruit and/or starch (berries, rice, potatoes, etc), one to three tablespoons of fat, and one to two handfuls of vegetables. It’s that easy.

The great thing about this regimen is that you don’t have to change your diet completely. You just have to adjust it. For example, if you are making a pasta dish for dinner, eat less pasta than you usually do, and add plenty of vegetables to the sauce. You can even have a bit of cheese on top for fat.

And it’s great to hear that this diet doesn’t forbid any foods. So if you must have ice-cream or cake, limit the amount you eat and try to eat these items as seldom as possible. Otherwise, it’s a matter of sticking to the handful rule most of the time. And don’t forget the veggies!
