How to save money when shopping for paint

Make a list, and stick to it:

As with any shopping expedition, making a list avoids impulse buying, and stops you walking out with more than you needed, and costing more than you had planned.

Make a cost estimate:

Do some research, go online for the best deals.  Add the prices to your list, so that you can have an idea of how much you are looking at for that purchase.

Use color samples:

Before you embark on your purchase, get color samples from your paint counter.  This will give you a vision for which color is perfect for your space.

 Wait for sales:

Be flexible with your color choices, according to your budget.  Sometimes, that colour you otherwise would not have chosen but did because it’s on sale could end up being the perfect color for your space, without breaking the bank.

Stick to the DIY approach:

You can save a lot of money on your budget by doing the job yourself.  If it’s a whole house, break the job down to the room by room.  Good friends would be happy to lend a hand, which would not only save money but also time.
