Samsung Electronics has officially introduced its latest flagship lineup, the Galaxy S25 series, during the Galaxy Unpacked event. The series includes the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, each designed to enhance user experience through advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the user-focused approach behind the Galaxy S25 series and its AI capabilities: “The greatest innovations are a reflection of their users, which is why we evolved Galaxy AI to help everyone interact with their devices more naturally and effortlessly while trusting that their privacy is secured,” Roh said in a statement published by the Samsung Newsroom. “Galaxy S25 series opens the door to an AI-integrated OS that fundamentally shifts how we use technology and how we live our lives.”

A standout feature of the Galaxy S25 series is the integration of a ‘personal AI concierge,’ developed in collaboration with Google. This AI assistant is designed to handle various tasks, including managing emails, scheduling appointments, conducting online searches, and editing media. The AI aims to provide a more natural and intuitive interaction, reducing the need for frequent app-switching.

For instance, according to CNet, Samsung’s new tool, AI Select, will recommend actions based on the content displayed on your phone’s screen. The photo gallery app will now support conversational search queries like, “Find bottles of wine from France,” similar to features offered by Apple and Google. Notably, Samsung is integrating this capability into the settings menu, allowing users to type queries such as, “My eyes are hurting, can you help with the screen?” to enable the blue light filter or adjust brightness. Apple introduced a comparable feature with Siri, allowing it to handle tech support questions using Apple Intelligence.

During an interview with Reuters, Park Ji-sun, executive vice president and head of Samsung’s Language AI team, highlighted the company’s leadership in AI innovation. “We are one step ahead of the industry in terms of offering AI features. I believe we are going in the right direction,” Park said.

The Galaxy S25 series is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, offering significant improvements in performance and efficiency. The Galaxy S25 Ultra features a 50MP ultra-wide camera, providing enhanced photography capabilities. Additionally, the devices support Wi-Fi 7 and satellite communication, ensuring faster connectivity and broader coverage.

Maintaining a design consistent with previous models, the Galaxy S25 and S25+ feature aluminum frames and Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Samsung continues its commitment to sustainability by incorporating recycled materials into the external components and using batteries prepared with 50% recycled cobalt.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 series are available starting January 23, with official sales commencing on February 7, 2025. Pricing starts at $799 for the Galaxy S25, $999 for the Galaxy S25+, and $1,459 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

In the third quarter of 2024, Samsung Electronics reported a revenue of KRW 79.1 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 9.18 trillion. The company aims to focus on technological leadership in components and premium products with AI features.

The introduction of the Galaxy S25 series underscores Samsung’s dedication to innovation, particularly in AI integration, aiming to set new standards in the smartphone industry.
