Avatar: The Way of Water is one of the most anticipated movies of 2022 and its release date is just around the corner. Nyx Cosmetics decided to mark the occasion by dropping a makeup collection inspired by Pandora, together with an eco-friendly campaign.
Nyx’s new line features a total of 12 products, inspired by the rich fictional world of the Avatar movies. The 24-pan eyeshadow palette is its most exciting product, but the line also features a highlighter palette, blue body paint, makeup setting spray, and lipstick and lip-glosses in several different shades.
Denée Pearson, NYX’s senior vice president of global marketing, said this partnership is very special because they worked closely with filmmakers to bring the world of Avatar to life through makeup with an incredible level of detail.
“Everything from this collection is inspired by the [setting] of Avatar, Pandora, and characters… The palettes are inspired by the colors of Pandora’s land and sea, from the vibrant forest greens to the deep turquoise blues and shimmering bioluminescence of the water,” Pearson told Rolling Stone.
The launch of this collection is accompanied by a social media campaign raising funds for Nature Conservancy’s efforts to protect the oceans. From November 30 to February 28, 2023, Nyx pledged to donate up to $50,000 to this non-profit, for posts using the hashtags #NYXCosmeticsForAvatar, #KeepOurOceansAmazing, and #AvatarTheWayOfWater.
