Why our Nails Hate Winter?

The winter’s dry air isn’t good for our hands or nails, and can easily break them, this is why it’s very important to have a plan for those cold days, if we want to keep them healthy,  pretty and strong.

Though slipping on mittens is a way to shield the nails from the outcome of this upcoming winter, it isn’t the only way to solve the problem.

For some, cold temperature is fun, especially when you think about rain, snowball fights or hot chocolate. Nails and cuticles surely think different.

So why does our nails hate the winter so much? On a regular day, good nails need to contain 18% of water, yet, on winter days, due to moving between dry-hot-air-indoors and cold-freezing-temperatures-outdoors, the amount of water isn’t normal. This can reduce the level of moisture and dehydrate our nails. When this happens, our nails are likely to split and break.

It’s important to take care of our nails on winter days, since we’re on big moisture loss.
