Mexican Artist is Using Embroidery to Pay Homage to “The Simpsons”

If you think you’re the biggest fan of The Simpsons, that’s only because you’ve never heard of Gabriela Martinez. She’s taking her love for this animated show to a new level by recreating the most iconic scenes with embroidery.

The Mexican artist goes by Instagram name @bazarbartiano, and her page has over 75,000 followers. According to her Etsy account, she only makes 10 hoops inspired by The Simpsons every two-three weeks, and they’re such a huge hit that it only takes a couple of minutes for them to sell out.

Martinez told Bored Panda that she’s been making these embroideries since 2015 and that it takes her between 10-30 hours to finish each piece. In addition to using thread and needle, she also utilizes felt to give each hoop a beautiful background color.

Her embroideries help her reflect on the scenes from her favorite cartoon, and it’s not difficult to see why she opted for The Simpsons as her primary subject. This animated classic has been around for over three decades, and she’ll never run out of the scenes to recreate.
