What could be more romantic than eating cheese fondue with your other half? No fancy fondue pot is needed to make this delicious three cheese dinner!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/3 pound shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/2 pound shredded Gruyere cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter
- French bread cut into cubes
- Cherry tomatoes
- Cooked baby potatoes
- Green apple, cut into thick slices
Instructions:
- Heat a medium-sized pot on the stove on medium heat.
- Add the butter to the pot and wait for it to melt.
- Sprinkle the flour into the pot. Cook the butter and flour for a few minutes until it is a slightly golden colored paste.
- Add the white wine and allow it to heat until it starts simmering.
- Add the Swiss, Gruyere, and cheddar cheese, one half cup at a time, consistently whisking.
- When all of the cheese is melted, stir in the nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- Serve immediately with bread, tomatoes, potatoes, and apple.
