You can create many amazing things by simply scribbling on a piece of paper, and Liz Y Ahmet’s art is a perfect example. This UK-based artist is showing us how to find beauty in chaos with her mesmerizing scribbled portraits.
Ahmet attracted over 70,000 followers to her Instagram page with her unique drawings which consist of hundreds of scribbled lines. She mostly uses pens and pencils in their creation but doesn’t shy away from giving other techniques a shot.
Ahmet’s paintings are instantly recognizable since they perfectly combine beauty and chaos, and that’s exactly what makes them so unique. Most of them take a female form because they come from a very personal place for the artist.
Ahmet discussed her approach to art with Bored Panda, and said she used art as therapy after dealing with some tough times. Many of her portraits are shaped like masks because she spent a lot of time hiding her problems and emotions.
“The faces are a chaos of emotions, which is where the scribbles evolved from. And I like to try different mediums because I don’t like my art to stagnate, but want to keep things fresh and exciting,” explained the artists.
