Learn How to Make Your Own Modern Bookends

Most people store their books on the shelves, but there are many other ways to display your favorite novels. Bookends are super popular thanks to their stylish and modern vibe, and if you don’t like the ones you’ve seen at Target, making your own is always an option.

Meg Allan Cole shared an awesome bookends tutorial with her 40,000 YouTube subscribers, and we couldn’t resist seeing what she came up with. You don’t have to be a professional carpenter to pull this one off, and having basic skills will suffice as long as you follow the instructions.

The list of items you’ll use along the way includes wood, paint, painters tape, sandpaper, wood finishing cloths, and some basic tools such as circle sponge, hammer and nails. They’re all properly displayed in Cole’s tutorial, along with dimensions for each piece of wood.

The final product is extremely simple, yet pretty impressive. If you’re confident enough in your carpentry skills, you can make something even more amazing, using this fun tutorial as a blueprint for your creative endeavors.
