Hairdresser, TV star, cheerleader, political advocate, gymnast, and now cover star of a magazine; is there anything Jonathan Van Ness can’t do?

For the first time in 35 years, Cosmopolitan UK’s cover will have someone who’s not female as the Queer Eye star identifies as non-binary and he uses male pronouns. The last non-female to be featured on the cover was Boy George in 1984 and One Direction was on the cover in 2012.

Earlier this year, JVN told Out, “I’ve been wearing heels and wearing makeup and wearing skirts and stuff for a minute, honey. I just, like, didn’t know that that meant — that I had a title. I didn’t really put that together with ‘gender nonconforming’ or ‘non-binary’ or owning that as an identity until recent[ly], because I think I just thought that I loved skirts and heels.”

JVN could not look more fabulous on the cover, he’s wearing an orange and pink tulle dress of our dreams by Christian Siriano and pairing it with Nike’s and striped socks. He’s so effortlessly chic.

JVN took to Instagram to announce the exciting news, “My body is ready. 1st non Female star of Cosmopolitan UK in 35 years.”

Be sure to pick up your copy of Cosmopolitan UK’s January 2020 issue to get your dose of JVN. You can also check out the magazine’s interview here.
