Impress Your Friends With This Easy Homemade Gnocchi!

There’s nothing more impressive than putting homemade pasta on the dinner table, so impress your friends with this super simple gnocchi recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup instant mashed potato flakes
  • 1 cup boiling hot water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry rubbed sage
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Recipe

  1. Combine the potato flakes and the hot water together in a large bowl and mix well so the flakes turn into mashed potatoes.
  2. Beat the egg and add it into the mix and stir to combine.
  3. Measure out the flour and add that into the bowl along with all the spices. Mix to combine into a dough, if it’s too dry to come together, add 1 teaspoon of water at a time until it just comes together.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for 3-5 minutes, then divide into 4 sections and roll each section into a log.
  5. Cut the logs up into 1-inch pieces and let the gnocchi rest for 15 minutes.
  6. Bring a large pot of water to a boil with a lot of salt, and when it’s boiled, drop in the gnocchi.
  7. Scoop them gently out of the water with a slotted spoon once they’ve risen to the top of the pot.
  8. Serve with your favorite sauce!
