If You’re Missing a Kitchen Tool, Use These Items Instead!

Sometimes you can feel defeated if you don’t have the kitchen tool you need to make a certain recipe. But, luckily there are substitutions, which you probably already own, to carry you through!

Rolling Pin

Unless you’re someone who bakes a lot, you probably don’t have a rolling pin on hand! But, if you’re in the mood for some biscuits or pie dough, don’t fret, you can always use a wine bottle! Whether it’s full or empty, the round shape will get the job done in no time.

Whisk

A whisk is essential for things like pancake batter, making fluffy eggs, but not everyone owns one. The best way to get by without a whisk is to take two forks and tie them together with a rubber band! You can also attach a protein bottle mixer to a fork and use that as a whisk as well.

Citrus Reamer

Whenever you’re using citrus in large quantities like for pies, salad dressings, or marinades, you don’t want to do it by hand. If you don’t have a citrus reamer handy, all you need are some tongs! Just cut the citrus you’re using in half and use the tongs to squeeze out all the juice in a snap.
