Chances are that you’ve had a bad salon experience at least once in your life. We pay a lot of money to get the color and cut we want, and sometimes our hair ends up looking completely different from what we expected. So how do you tell your stylist that you don’t like the finished product?
If you don’t like the color, tell your stylist while you’re still in the salon so they can get the chance to fix it. Your stylist would rather you tell them that you don’t like the color than for you to be unhappy and to tell your friends you didn’t like their work.
For haircuts, let your stylist know how short you want your hair before they even pick up the scissors. Bringing pictures is always a good idea for a frame of reference. If you’re not happy after the cut is complete, you should definitely say something so they can correct it or avoid making the same mistake for your next appointment.
For situations when your hair color looks different after you leave the salon, like after washing it, if it happens within a week or two of visiting the salon, you should let your stylist know so they can make adjustments to your cut or color.
Whatever you do, don’t try and fix your haircut or color at home! This makes it harder for any stylist to correct the errors and it will be much more expensive to do so.
