How to Properly Use Dry Shampoo

Now that you’re staying at home more than ever, you probably don’t need to wash your hair as often as before. Especially if your hair gets greasy quickly, it can be good to stretch out the time between two washes a little bit. Washing hair often leads to blowdrying and styling for most of us, and it’s also good to give our hair a break from all this now that we have the chance.

But if you haven’t washed your hair in days and you suddenly have a Zoom meeting or a video chat scheduled, you can quickly fix how it looks with some dry shampoo. Here’s how to use it properly.

You already know the basics: you apply dry shampoo to your roots, let it sit a bit, and get rid of the rest with your hands or a dry towel. But there’s one trick that will give your hair all the volume it needs: apply it the night before. That way, it can work as you sleep and “soak in” all the grease from your hair, leaving you with beautiful volume and zero white residue.

But if you’re in a hurry and didn’t remember to do this the night before, just try to leave the dry shampoo on your hair for as long as you can before you brush it out. It will do the job and you’ll look gorgeous on camera!
