For some people, a staycation involves hanging out in their gardens and taking a dip in the pool. For most of us, a staycation usually ends up being a chance to catch up with errands and spend time on our patios. If this sounds more like you, here are some tips to staycation better.

No Chores Allowed

If you want to commit to a staycation, ban yourself from doing chores or work. To reap the benefits of your staycation, you need to commit to relaxation and taking some time out.

Switch Off

If you want to fully commit, switch off your phone for a few days. Disconnect from the outside world and take time to fully focus on your own wellbeing.

Plan Some Fun Activities

There are plenty of fun activities you can do indoors. There are all sorts of options from VR to online escape rooms. If this is something you don’t normally do, give it a chance in the spirit of the staycation.

Have a Spa Day

Treat yourself to a spa day. Have a bath, paint your nails, do a face mask. If you live with friends or a partner, treat each other to a massage.

Get a Takeout

Take a break from cooking and order takeout. If eating in front of the TV is the norm for you, set up the table and pretend that you are eating out in your own private restaurant. A couple of candles can make all the difference.
