During this time of year many of us are usually in the midst of training for holiday-themed races, but this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most races have been canceled and we’ve had to change our plans. While in-person races have been canceled, virtual races have taken their place and with them, you still get to run, get the race swag, and support a cause your passionate about with the addition of being able to plan your route and run at your own time. Here are three holiday-themed virtual races to sign up for.

A Christmas Story Virtual Run

Any day in December you can run a 5K or 10K for $40 and the run benefits St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The gear for this event is extra special and it includes A Christmas Story branded zip-up hoodie, beanie, and medal.

Run for a Claus 2020 Virtual

You don’t have to be in Southern California to run this race this year. For $35 for adults and $20 for kids, you can run a 5K or 1-mile any day in December. The entrance fee supports the Salvation Army and after registering, you’ll get a Santa hat and beard, stocking, ugly sweater gator, and a medal with Satna wearing a face mask.

8Ks of Hanukkah

If you want to celebrate Hanukkah, this themed race allows you to run an 8K in one day, an 8K broken up over 8 days, or a 4K. The race starts December 10 and is $45, with the money supporting the University of Michigan Hillel. When you register you’ll receive a long sleeve shirt and medal.
