We’re all finally having enough time at our disposal to give new DIY projects a shot… but there’s a catch! Many cool projects require items you can’t get while in quarantine. Thankfully, geometric home decorations can be made with things you already have at home.

Also known by the name himmeli (Swedish word for sky or heaven), these sculptures originate from Finland, where they were first made as Christmas ornaments. They take a form of intricate geometric shapes and can be made from plywood, paper, and even plastic straws.

This is another Nordic home décor-inspired trend that became a global phenomenon in the last few years, and you can find many tutorials on how to make your own. Some of them include authentic himmeli sets, while others put items you already have to some good use.

YouTuber Lily Rose attracted over 300,000 views, and she utilized things you probably already have at home – straws, some wire, a glue gun and spray paint. Her instructions are pretty easy to follow, and himmeli structures will add some chic to your home if you decide to make them.
