Funny Murder Mysteries Are Taking Our TV Screens By Storm

Murder mysteries are not a novelty in Hollywood, but many of the recent shows that fall under this category explore it with a fresh point of view. Murder mysteries with a touch of humor are all the rage these days, and we’re bringing you three shows that put this genre on the map.

Only Murders in the Building

One of the shows responsible for popularizing this genre, Only Murders in the Building sees Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez play a trio of true crime fans starting their own podcast while trying to solve a murder in their apartment building.

The Afterparty

Over the course of its two seasons, The Afterparty saw the quirky Detective Danner trying to solve a series of murders by interrogating all the usual suspects. Each episode features an interview with a new witness and explores different movie genres, suitable to the characters’ personalities.

Poker Face

After giving us the acclaimed murder mystery franchise Knives Out, Rian Johnson decided to tackle the same genre with this TV series. Poker Face stars Natasha Lyon as a woman using her special talent to tell when someone is lying to solve crimes while on the run from a sinister casino owner.
