Floating Crease Liner is the New Avant-Garde Beauty Look

Are you tired of cat-eye, the negative space one, and the Cleopatra being the go-to eye makeup looks? Well, there’s a new eyeliner trend that’s all about coloring outside the lines and using your full eye to the max. The floating crease liner look, made popular by Gigi Hadid and Patrick Ta at Paris Fashion Week just over a week ago, moves eyeliner from the bottom of the lid to the top and it’s quickly taking over Instagram.

Celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta created the look for Hadid at it features perfectly straight white lines. The rest of the model’s makeup is left simple and natural showcasing the model’s glowing skin and fluffy brows.

“I love this trend because it’s showing that eyeliner can be used anywhere on the eye creating all different shapes and in different colors,” Patrick Ta, the makeup artist who created Hadid’s floating liner look, said to Elle.

“As makeup is evolving, more artists are trying out new things including graphic liner. You can create a dramatic graphic liner or you can create a look as simple as a line across the lid like I did with Gigi,” Ta continued.

Beauty bloggers have been putting their own spin on the trend and we’re loving all of the creative looks that have come from it.

These Instagram posts show that floating crease liner isn’t always neat and exact—it’s just as much fun when it’s messy and abstract. Check out some of our favorites below.
