Make Reservations Early

Valentine’s Day books up quickly, so before even thinking about heading out, make sure you’ve booked a reservation ahead of time. You may even need to book 30 days in advance to get the time you want.

Be Kind to the Staff

Restuarant staff have to work on Valentine’s Day and other holidays, instead of being able to dine with their partners, so be thankful and tip them well. Consider tipping 20 to 22 percent of your bill.

Look at the Menu

For holidays many restaurants offer pre-fixe menus that feature special items and prices. When you make your reservation, ask the restaurant if they’ll be using their regular menu.

Proposing

If you’re planning on using the meal to propose, tell the staff ahead of time. It’s best to propose earlier or later in the evening when things are less crowded.
