If you love strawberries, you’re probably bummed they are only available during a short window in spring. Of course, you can always buy them frozen throughout the year or freeze them yourself, but who doesn’t love a bit of variety?

Below is the recipe for the tastiest strawberry jam you can easily make today and enjoy for months.

What You Need

  • 9 lb strawberries
  • 5.5 lb sugar
  • 2.4 oz lemon juice
  • 5 glass jars

How to Make It?

Wash the strawberries and remove the stems. Cut each in half, place in a pot and pour the sugar over. Let sit for anywhere between 30 minutes and overnight.

Lightly mash the strawberries with a fork and turn on the stovetop on max heat. When it starts boiling, reduce the temperature to around 250 degrees and let it boil for an hour.

The foam will form on the top and you should remove it with a spoon. When there’s no more foam to form, your jam is done.

Remove from the stove, add the lemon juice and stir. Turn on your oven to 210 degrees and put your jars in it to sterilize. While it’s still hot, pour the jam into the sterilized jars. Close the lids, turn them upside down for a second to create a vacuum, and leave to cool. Store your freshly made jam in a dark, cool spot.
