Even though washing your hair is a fairly simple task, there are a few things you should know in order to keep your hair shiny and healthy. Check out a few common hair washing mistakes to avoid.

Washing with Hot Water

Hot showers are relaxing but they can really take a toll on your hair. Using hot water can strip your hair of natural oils and make it dry and more prone to breakage, so it’s best to use lukewarm water instead.

Using the Wrong Shampoo

If your hair looks dry and unhealthy that’s a sure sign you should immediately switch to a different shampoo. Try to avoid products that contain sulfates and choose shampoos or shampoo bars that are made from plant-based ingredients.

Washing it Too Often

Washing your hair more than two or three times a week is also a bad habit that can make your hair dry and frizzy. Overwashing can also make your hair color fade faster if you have dyed hair.

Brushing wet hair

Hair is more fragile and prone to breakage when it’s wet so it’s very important not to brush it as soon as you step out of the shower.
