If you have a coat in great condition that needs some sprucing, consider changing out the buttons or making even more buttons on it! This is a really simple DIY that you can do without a sewing machine that takes almost no time at all. This project is perfect for your lazy Sunday, so let’s get started.
If you’re happy with the placement and the size of your buttons, instead of changing them out, you can work with the ones that are already there. Go ahead and paint them to a color that you’d like to see on yourself, or even a little design to make it a little more playful.
If you want to replace the buttons, the first step is to take off the buttons from your coat. If you want to keep the buttons where they are, put a dot with a fabric maker where you take them off. Then, simply sew the new buttons into the original places and you’re done!
If you want to go ahead and change the placement of the buttons, you will have to sew up the original holes on the one side of your coat and cut and sew new ones in as well as the buttons.
