Avoid Overpacking With These Tips

There are two types of people when it comes to packing: those who begin 3 weeks before their departure date; and those who start an hour before leaving for the airport. Both, however, are susceptible to overpacking. While we can’t help with the former, we can give some tips on how to keep your luggage within the weight limits.

A Little Goes a Long Way

It can be tempting to pack lots of clothes when going away for an extended period of time, but the trick is to pack as though you are only traveling for a week. Yes, only take a week’s worth of stuff — and do laundry. Make use of laundromats and bathroom sinks to wash any items necessary and watch how far your week’s worth of clothes go.

Perfect Your Palette

The easiest way to get the most out of your clothes is by keeping them in the same color palette. This will enable you to make several outfits from just a few items. Stick to neutral colors like black, white, beige, and navy, and use accessories to distinguish your looks.

Rule of Three

Shoes take up a lot of space and weight, so always go with a maximum of 3 pairs. Packing them at the bottom of your case will help to distribute the weight, and little items can be packed into the shoes, too.
