Adidas Originals featured diversity at New York Fashion Week on Thursday.
The collection was designed by 23-year-old Danielle Cathari, an Amsterdam Fashion Institute student. It includes multi-coloured tracksuits, cropped bustiers, oversized denims with matching mini-skirt, and the brand’s iconic signature triple lines apparent in every item of clothing.
Adidas ambassadors, Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin, arrived wearing the new designs. Jenner donned a black tracksuit with white heels while Baldwin wore an all-red ensemble with black boots.
But the most appealing about the show is the diversity among the models. Last week, Adidas announced a street casting for its NYFW event. The screening resulted to diverse models, with more than half of them being of non-Caucasian ethnicities, and one lovely woman in a hijab.
New York Fashion Week runs from Feb 8. To Feb. 16.
