Princess Diana left a rich legacy behind her— she was a kind philanthropist and a loving mother. She was also one of the 20th century’s greatest fashion icons and so to celebrate what would have been her 60th birthday, here are some of her most unforgettable looks:

Yellow Overalls

Princess Dianas’s casual moments were just as memorable as her elegant gowns. In July 1981, she wore yellow overalls over a floral top to a polo match.

The Wedding Gown

For her 1981 wedding to Prince Charles, Diana wore an iconic wedding dress, with puffy sleeves and a 25 ft long train.

Matching Prince Harry

Princess Diana loved coordinating with her adorable sons. One of our favorite looks is a matching green outfit she and Prince Harry wore to the Queen’s birthday celebration in 1988.

Casual Pink Look

Princess Diana brought pedal pushers back from the 1950s in this enviable bright pink ensemble from 1986.

The “Revenge Dress”

In 1994 the Princess arrived at the Serpentine Gallery wearing a black velvet dress paired with a pearl choker. No other royal had dared to wear such a bold look before her.

Biker Shorts

Finally, we can’t help but mention that Princess Diana practically invented athleisure with this look that featured bright-orange bike shorts, and a Virgin-Atlantic sweatshirt.
