Vacations can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but before you know it, you’ve spent all of your money. Accommodations, flights, food and drinks, attractions, and transportation adds up quickly and the last thing you want while enjoying your vacation is to worry about money. With the five tips, you can stick to your budget and enjoy your travels.

Budget Before You Book

Most of the expenses will come from flights and accommodations and one of the best ways to save money is to book your trip during the week.

Use a Debit Card or Prepaid Visa

Have a better idea of just how much you’re spending by using a debit or prepaid Visa card. Only use your credit card for emergencies.

Set Daily Limits for Spending

In addition to setting an overall budget, set a daily limit for how much to spend. This will be less overwhelming than having an overall budget for the entirety of your vacation.

Cook Meals

Sure, it’s nice to taste the local cuisine, but dining out can add up quickly and take away from other experiences. Look for accommodations with kitchens, so you can cook a meal in your room. Also, look for complimentary breakfasts and pack up the leftovers from restaurants.

B.Y.O.B

Alcohol is a huge expense of trips, and while it’s nice to have a fancy cocktail from time to time, bring some with you for the rest of the time.
