Looking to inject new life into your home by clearing out clutter? Here are some top tips for effectively decluttering your living space.

Tackle The Kitchen Cupboards

Kitchen cupboards are a hot spot for clutter. Most people will have at least one cupboard of drawer stuffed with Tupperware and empty Chinese takeaway boxes. Pair your boxes with the lids and if there’s no lid, bin it. You’ll be amazed how much space you save.

Pack Up Winter Clothes

It may not quite be time to pack away your winter clothes, but dividing your wardrobe up by season is a great way to declutter. When the weather starts to warm, pack up your winter clothes in vacuum storage bags and pack them away so they don’t take up space.

Ask A Friend For A Hand

If you suspect you are a bit of a hoarder, ask a friend for a helping hand. If you start to get overly sentimental about your junk, they can help keep your hoarding habits in check and free up some space.

Donate

When getting rid of things you no longer need, make plans to donate your unwanted items. It will encourage you to make decisions and you’ll feel better about parting with old clothes and nicknacks.

Reward Yourself

If decluttering is a task you dread, assign yourself some positive reinforcement. Write a list of what you hope to achieve and when you have finished, take time out to do something nice for yourself. Better still, indulge in a new item to fill the space you have made.
