Hollywood superstar pulled all the stops at this year’s Met Gala and gave us another red carpet to remember. The event celebrated Karl Lagerfeld’s life and legacy, and the late designer would certainly approve of some of the red-carpet trends that emerged on Met Monday, starting with these five.

Black & White

Many of the Met Gala attendees paid homage to Lagerfeld by wearing his favorite color combo—black and white. Lily Collins, Cardi B, Olivia Rodrigo, and Michelle Yeoh were some of the celebrities rocking these colors.

Chanel Bride

White gowns were also all the rage this year, and Dua Lipa, Rihanna, Ava Max, and Gisele Bündchen were some of the celebrities putting their twist on the “Chanel Bride” trend by wearing them.

Pearls Everywhere

Lagerfeld often incorporated pearls in his designs as a nod to Coco Channel. That’s why we’ve seen so many pearly dresses at the Met this year, with the likes of Kim Kardashian, Lizzo, Salma Hayek, and Ava Max wearing them.

High Collars

The late designer was also crazy about high-collared shirts. Several celebrities honored him by incorporating this detail into their outfits, including Julia Garner, Jenna Ortega, Kendall Jenner, Cardi B, and Stephanie Hsu.

Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.

Many of the dresses at this year’s Met Gala featured subtle floral details, including the ones worn by Anne Hathaway, Paris Hilton, and Daisy Edgar-Jones, while Rihanna decided to go all-in.
