In an interview with Glamour, Cardi B’s makeup artist Erika La Pearl revealed the rapper/singer’s favorite beauty regimes. We gathered the best tips from the interview into a three-step guide to achieving perfect makeup like Cardi B.
Facial Massage
“When applying the moisturizer, I try and massage the face. This keeps the face relaxed and looking younger,” Erika says. I tried to get my housemate on board with that, not even close!
Prepping
Erika always preps Card B’s skin before applying makeup. She uses Stacked Skincare’s Dermaplanning tool to “smooth out and brighten the skin”. She also uses Ole Henriksen’s Banana Bright Eye Cream, C-Rush Brightening Moisturizer and Balance It All Toner. She doesn’t apply the primer until all of those have been applied. It sounds like perfectly smooth skin takes more effort and product than we thought.
Foundation & Concealer
“I use the EX1 Cosmetics Invisiwear Liquid Foundation in Shade 8.0. For concealer, I like to use the Delete Fluide Concealer in shade 4.0 to illuminate the eye area,” Erika revealed. “To give Cardi a natural glow, I sweep the EX1 blusher in “Pretty in Peach” on her cheekbones, and then to complete the look, I use EX1 Cosmetics Invisiwear Compact Powder in shade 6.0 to set the makeup in place.”
As for how to find your perfect foundation match, Erika suggests matching foundations to the color of your chest rather than your face.
