Some of us wait for October all year. We get to decorate our homes with fake spider webs, don our carefully chosen Halloween costumes, and prepare ourselves for the spookiest day of the year, October 31st. If you’re looking for a classic Halloween to watch this year, h are some classic films that every Halloween aficionado has to watch.
This cult classic was first released in 1993, and Halloween would not be complete without a screening of it. It all starts when a young boy named Max lights a cursed candle which gives three witches the power to resurrect themselves in the town of Salem, and mayhem ensues.
Another excellent spooky film that came out in the 1990s was Sleepy Hollow. This film is not for the faint of heart. It features Johnny Depp as a Gothic police detective named Ichabod Crane, who is sent to the town of Sleepy Hollow. He has to use his detective skills to find out what the Headless Horseman is up to in this not so sleepy town.
Another witchy classic is The Craft. This film features four teenage witches who form a coven and decide to cast spells on their classmates. They start out with good intentions, but the dark magic eventually takes over. What’s really exciting about this film, is that a sequel will be released this year, on October 28th called The Craft: Legacy. A new coven is coming to town.
